On September 25th and 26th, 2025, the
H2ICE special exhibition took place as part of NUFAM at the Karlsruhe trade fair grounds – accompanied by the annual members' meeting of the Hydrogen Engine Alliance e. V. – instead
Over 150 participants from industry, research, and politics came together
to exchange information on current developments surrounding the hydrogen engine.
Under the motto “Ready to work”, it was impressively demonstrated that the hydrogen engine is ready for practical application – through inspiring technical presentations, intensive discussions, and the presentation of over 20 exhibitors as part of the H2ICE special exhibition.
A particular highlight: The H2ICE special exhibition opened the technology to a broad audience for the first time. The great interest and consistently positive feedback from NUFAM visitors underscore the growing need for efficient, robust, and CO₂-neutral drive solutions, particularly in the commercial vehicle sector.
The members' meeting focused on three key topics:
- International perspectives on hydrogen engine applications
- Infrastructure as a necessary foundation for market ramp-up
- Regulatory framework for a Successful Scaling
These topics were explored in depth in keynotes, workshops, and panel discussions – supplemented by insights into the current state of the art and contributions from the perspective of users and customers.
The event demonstrated once again: The hydrogen engine is not just a technological option – it is a real, marketable solution for climate-neutral operation in the commercial vehicles of tomorrow.
